New Feature on TikTok: TikTok Stories

April 8, 2022

If you don’t know already TikTok has released its new feature ‘TikTok Stories’ which allows users to post new content that will vanish after 24 hours. This is like Instagram Stories and Snapchat.

This trending feature was an idea made popular by the app Snapchat and from there countless platforms have gone to integrate the feature on their own social media platforms. For instance, Instagram, Facebook, most recently TikTok, and even Twitter with their stories feature called‘Fleets’ which was shortly after abandoned.

Now TikTok had implemented its own versions of this feature called TikTok stories. First tests began in 2021, and now they have introduced the feature for most of its users across the platform.

Now that we are seeing this feature being enable to more users and there is a chance that you are able to use it. There are still some regions and users without this feature, and they will have to wait for awhile longer.

In case you were wondering how to use this feature, we assure you that it is simple.

First, you launch TikTok and you open the camera using the plus button at the bottom of the screen. You must ensure that you have selected the ‘Quick’ which is located right under the pink record button, then you choose to either take a picture or record a video.

Once you have edited your picture or video just the way you wanted, press the white button ‘Post to Story’ to add it to your story.

If you are wondering how to see someone’s story, you must go to their profile, and if their picture has a blue circle around it, you can tap and view their story.

It seems that TikTok stories are appearing on usersFor You page, so it is still not clear how exactly this feature functions in comparison to the Instagram story, but regardless people have so far had a positive reaction.

Have fun trying this new TikTok feature!
